About Me

I've always immersed myself in work that held personal meaning while creating genuine value for others.
For over twenty years, I built and scaled businesses in life-safety systems — fire safety, security, emergency evacuation, hospital communication — environments where the margin for error is measured in lives, not just revenue. Running those businesses as CEO and General Manager, I delivered the growth the role demanded. But what I noticed, day in and day out, wasn't only the growth itself — it was what quietly decided whether a good quarter became a good year:
the partnerships that held under pressure, the discipline demanded by systems that left no room for error, and, more than either, whether a person could still think clearly on the fourth country in a week, after the second missed night's sleep, in the negotiation that ran past midnight following a full day of travel. That composure, and the physical stamina underneath it, either held for a single demanding stretch or was built to last.
That observation, repeated across enough negotiations, teams, and clients, hardened into a fundamental truth: the ultimate determinant of organisational success was never the systems, the products, or even the strategy alone — it was the resilience, mental state, physical health, and wellbeing of the people making the decisions, executing the plans, and delivering the results.
Time and again, when something went wrong — in my own performance, a team member's, or a client's — I had a gut feeling that the cause wasn't purely professional. I didn't yet have the language for it, only the pattern: the night before a negotiation when someone clearly hadn't slept. The day of poor food and too much coffee before a pitch that nobody thought to connect to the moment. The weeks when someone's usual edge simply didn't show up, for reasons nobody named. The days, roughly once a month, when a team's coordination quietly frayed, and everyone worked around it rather than asking why.
After deep reflection on where I could create the greatest impact, I made a deliberate decision to pursue rigorous professional training in naturopathic medicine and functional medicine. I worked hard to develop genuine clinical competence — doing it properly required full immersion. The people I worked with deserved nothing less.
Only later, through that training, did I finally have names for what I'd been watching for years without being able to explain: sleep deprivation compounding under pressure. Blood sugar volatility undermining a pitch before it began. A hormonal imbalance, or a bout of neurotransmitter dysregulation, quietly stalling what should have been someone's most productive stretch of the year. PMS fracturing team cohesion at exactly the wrong moment. The pattern had been real all along — I simply hadn't yet had the language to prove it.
What began as a reflection and curiosity became another defining chapter of my life. It taught me that the principles are the same. A life-safety system and a human body are both networks of connected, interdependent elements — where a failure in one part cascades through the whole, and where resilience comes from understanding the system, not just treating the symptom. Two decades of building one gave me an unexpected lens for understanding the other. Together, they shaped who I am now.
What a long-term leader carries into a room — the instinct for spotting the pattern before anyone else does, the discipline of operating under real pressure, the ability to hold stakeholders with competing interests — I carry alongside the perspective of a practising functional medicine practitioner and health coach. Both are always present, whether I'm leading operations, building a commercial partnership, or working directly with someone on their own performance and resilience.
Today I work with individuals who want real answers, not another round of "everything looks fine", and with organisations who understand that the people executing their strategy are as critical an asset as anything on the balance sheet.
